Marc Márquez arrived at Gresini in MotoGP this year after difficult seasons. The “ordeal” that started with the serious injury suffered in 2020 continued until 2023, not only because of other injuries, but also because of Honda’s poor performance.
The rider agreed to join a satellite team with a very clear mission: to find good sensations on a motorcycle, to confirm that he is still capable of being competitive and to fight for the best results.
And he succeeded. He finished the championship in third place and won three times, being the main rival of the two riders who dominated the season – champion Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).
The eight-time world champion said, as quoted by the newspaper Marca, that there had been successes in 2024 despite the fact that he was not champion – neither absolute nor independent:
– I told Gresini. No titles were won, but many more were won this year. I managed to find myself and extend my sporting career. I had ghosts in my head, doubts that were resolved in a very positive way. I will try to continue with this happiness, because if you are happy, you are fast.
