The world of Senegalese wrestling is in turmoil after the victory of Modou Lo over Siteu, declared by arbitration decision this Sunday, November 24, 2024. This fight, expected as one of the biggest shocks of the season, finally crowned Modou Lo, who thus retains his title of king of the arenas.
However, the arbitration decision is not unanimous. This Tuesday, November 26, Max Mbargane, manager of Siteu, officially filed an appeal with the National Management Committee (CNG) of Senegalese wrestling. According to him, irregularities tainted the final verdict, and he calls for a thorough re-examination of the facts leading to Modou Lo's victory.
“Modou Lô hit the ground with his shoulder, which is a clear fall. I heard Tapha Gueye say that the fall happened while Siteu was outside the enclosure but that's not what the rules say. If the action begins in the enclosure and ends behind the bags, the fall must be validated. This is also how the fight between Siteu and Zarco ended” declared Max Mbargane on the microphone of Senegal 7
The appeal filed by Max Mbargane rekindles the controversy, and all eyes are now on the CNG, which will have to decide on the validity of the decision .
