A very long life. The British John Tinniswood, who became the oldest man in the world in April 2024, died Monday, November 25 at the age of 112, his family and the Guinness World Records. John Tinniswood, born in Liverpool on August 26, 1912, died at his nursing home in Southport, in the northwest of England.
He died “surrounded by music and love”his family said in a statement. “John always loved to say thank you, so on his behalf we thank everyone who looked after him over the years.”she adds. John Tinniswood leaves behind a daughter, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was officially recognized in April as the oldest man in the world by the Guinness World Records after the death of Venezuelan Juan Vicente Pérez Mora at the age of 114. John Tinniswood did not follow any particular diet, apart from a portion of fish and chips every Friday, “like all the others” residents of his retirement home.
This Liverpool Reds fan said earlier this year that his longevity was just a matter of “lucky”even if he advocated moderation to stay healthy. “If you drink too much, if you eat too much, if you walk too much, if you do too much in general, you will end up suffering.” he said to Guinness World Records. The oldest woman in the world is currently the Japanese Tomiko Itooka, aged 116.
