The young man, a 21-year-old student, “was transferred to Turin on November 18,” one of his lawyers, M.e Pedro Andujar, confirming information from the regional daily Le Progrès. “He has Italian lawyers, he will be tried there for the facts of the death of his partner” by the country’s judicial authorities, he added.
The body of the young woman was found by walkers on April 5 in an abandoned church in the village of La Salle, in northern Italy. He had numerous marks of stab wounds. Her companion, who crossed the France-Italy border with her on March 25, was arrested in Lyon five days after the discovery of the body.
Complaints of violence
Before transferring him to Italy, French justice had wanted to try him for domestic violence prior to the murder. Bruises, broken nose, threats, kidnapping: before being killed, the young model from the suburbs of Lyon had filed a complaint in 2023 and 2024 against her partner for violence.
During his trial in May in Grenoble, he proclaimed his innocence, denying being “an aggressive or dangerous person”, but he was sentenced to six months in prison. He had appealed the judgment, which was confirmed by the Grenoble Court of Appeal “around ten days ago”, according to Mr.e Andujar.
Detained in Varces, in Isère, he was still the subject of proceedings in Lyon for other acts of violence against a third person, but was finally handed over to Italy before being tried.
