Sad news for the Mouride community. Serigne Abdoulaye Diouf, Khalife of Serigne Thierno Diouf Lambaye, passed away this Monday, July 1, 2024 in Dakar.
Grandson of Sheikh Aliou Diouf Lambaye, one of the greatest “Sheikhs” and faithful companions of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba Khadimou Rassoul, founder of Mouridism in Baol, the late religious guide had held the position of Khalife since 2010, following the death of his father, Serigne Thierno Diouf Lambaye. He will be buried this Tuesday at the “Bakhya” cemetery in the holy city of Touba.

From now on, his uterine brother, Serigne Dame Diouf Bélel, will succeed him at the head of the family of Serigne Thierno Diouf Lambaye.
