the essential
Epicureans, grab your forks and feed yourselves a little more with the memories of the grand banquet of the Lot of Saveurs Festival. More than a banquet… the grand finale of a very gourmet weekend. Ambiance.

All of them, like good Gauls, seated at the grand banquet of the Lot of Saveurs festival, Saturday evening in Cahors, were afraid of only one thing: that the sky would fall on their heads!

Because storms threatened to hit the tables along the Fénelon aisles.

“The party won’t be spoiled, we’ll avoid the raindrops. For now, we’re having a great time,” says Michelle Albertini, a Cadurcienne who wouldn’t have missed the highlight of the weekend for anything in the world.

A feast for the eyes and palates spoiled by the preparations of great chefs.

Their mission was to take young and old eaters to another dimension. Mission accomplished.

Further on, near the war memorial, musicians vibrate their brass instruments and bring a succulent sound that adds flavors to the dishes tasted. The people of Cadur who come with their families, friends, or association groups, head to the small chalets to collect the dishes ordered.

A family atmosphere

“The fallback solution, in case of rain, was to simply eat these dishes at home,” explains Sophie Kubler, a municipal councillor who came with her family.

A moment of relaxation also for Daniel Coupy, local elected official and desert adventurer who did not deprive himself of dessert.

The local elected officials spread out along all the Fénelon avenues, rejoicing in this uncalculated mix allowing them to chat with the people of Cadur while munching on a good Croustilot.

And now, the festival’s gourmet markets

The bread from the department, spread with a good layer of Rocamadour, has a taste that Romain Alavard, seated at a table a stone’s throw from the statue of Gambetta, found “irresistible and incomparable.”

He is in heaven. It is time to put a woolen sweater or a blanket on his shoulders. It is cool.

The rain is falling gently.

Not enough to scare away epicureans. They will have the opportunity to experience other delicious episodes during the festival’s gourmet markets: July 9 in Labastide-Marnhac, July 16 in Espère, July 23 in Nuzéjouls, August 30 in Saint-Géry-Vers, August 6 in Junies, August 13 in Arcambal and a little last one to be totally satisfied: August 20 in Francoulès.

Treat yourself.
