The coach of the Girondins de Bordeaux, Albert Rierawas invited in Brandto look back on the season that has just ended in Ligue 2. The Bordeaux coach thus made a sort of assessment, he who replaced David Guion, with also some observations on the mental level.

“I arrived in Bordeaux after an experience in Slovenia, where we restarted the season with a team that had finished second. Everything was going well but when the Girondins told me that I could coach the first team, I couldn’t let that opportunity pass me by, even if it was in the second division. For those who don’t understand my choice, it’s as if a historic club like Barcelona was proposing a 4-year construction project. It’s a historic club, a big club. We all want titles, we all want to win. When I arrived, the main problem I encountered was that I arrived in October and I didn’t have any preparation in the summer with my team, to put my touch on it. And I realized that the mentality was still in the first division while we were playing in the second. They were thinking about the first without having won the second division. That was the hardest part, changing that mentality. We also had the problem with financial fair play which did not allow us to go higher in the ranking and we finished in the middle of the table.”
