Discussions resume. While the contract which linked Savencia to its association of producer organizations (AOP) Sunlait had not been renewed on November 1, Savencia revealed to the media on November 25 Context that mediation resumes for a period of two months between the two parties.
Landry Rivière, vice-president of Sunlait confirms the information with Agricultural France. “A conventional mediation begins, with the aim of reaching an agreement. This mediation is private, we cannot reveal the content of the discussions,” he explains.
New mediator
Savencia and Sunlait agreed to resume negotiations following a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture. A new mediator, Frank Gentin, chosen by the parties, will intervene. “We really aim to reach a contract with Savencia. They, to respect the law and us, to respect the producers,” continues Landry Rivière. The breeder “hopes to achieve a balanced contract for both parties”.
Breeders who are members of the AOP are currently collected by Savencia, thanks to their individual agreements with the manufacturer.
