On November 21, during the FALA (Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement) gala held in Fredericton, Constable Tonia Roussel, member of the Edmundston Police Force, was seen award the prize in the Community Service 2024 category, for her involvement and dedication within the community as a police officer.

Constable Roussel began her career within the BNPP Police Force on 1is January 2003 before joining the Edmundston Police Force in 2006. In January 2023 she obtained the position of community police officer within the Edmundston Police Force and her impact at the community level was immediate.

She participated and organized several activities and implemented various programs, among others, the bicycle rodeo, the XOX project, a prevention and education program on intimate partner violence and learning a healthy love life for students of 10e year and the Sharing Tree campaign to name just a few.

Constable Roussel is also involved in various fundraisers for organizations that help people in need. She also ensures a presence during the municipality’s many activities, in addition to providing prevention and awareness in schools in the region.

This award recognizes the efforts it makes on a daily basis to promote the community involvement of the police, by building strong ties with the community.

The Edmundston Police Force and the City of Edmundston would like to congratulate Constable Roussel for standing out and winning this prestigious award among all her colleagues in the Atlantic.
