Geneva police said they intervened Monday afternoon in the Grange-Canal district. She cordoned off an area in order to carry out checks. Local media report the presence of a parcel bomb, which exploded and injured a young girl.

At this stage, the Geneva police do not want to say anything more. A communication will be made on Tuesday, its spokesperson Henny Martinoni told Keystone-ATS on Monday evening, confirming information from several media outlets. If the presence of explosives is proven, the file should pass into the hands of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (MPC).

According to information from 20 Minutesthe police reportedly asked people living in the building not to touch the mailboxes. Those who went out cannot return home. As for those who were at home, they are asked to stay at home, indicates the daily.

Later, around 6:15 p.m., the police evacuated the building in question via the basement. The residents were taken and welcomed to the Le Corbusier school and all the mailboxes were checked and opened.
