Traffic accident at Yamoussoukro (Ph KOACI)
On Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 10:04 a.m., a terrible accident of the route occurred at the intersection of the traffic lights at the Kloko building, on the route from the Foundation to Yamoussoukro. Immediately alerted, the 5th rescue company went to the scene to provide assistance to the victims.
The incident involved three vehicles: a truck-trailer, a private vehicle and a municipal taxi. The violent collision between these three means of transport caused considerable damage and seriously disrupted traffic in this usually busy area.
On the scene, rescuers discovered a spectacle of desolation. The human toll was heavy: four victims have been recorded. Unfortunately, one of the victims, trapped in the wreckage of her vehicle, was declared dead at the scene. The other three victims, seriously injured, were quickly taken care of by the emergency services and transported to the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of Yamoussoukro to receive emergency care.
The exact causes of theaccident remain to be determined. According to initial findings, it would appear that the truck-trailer hit the private vehicle before veering off course and colliding with the municipal taxi. The police have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of this tragedy and establish the responsibilities of each of the drivers involved.
