In Calvados, the mayor of Heuland took a traffic and signage stop for the end of year celebrations in order to help Santa Claus in his tour of gifts within his municipality.
Traffic signs, traffic priority for elves… In Heuland, everything is already ready to welcome Santa Claus in the best possible conditions. On Sunday, November 24, Mayor Yoan Morlot issued a traffic and signage order to help Santa's tour during his “official visit to the town”.
Thus, seven traffic signs were installed in the town in order to “promote land and air mobility” for Christmas. Santa Claus himself was there to present these signs this weekend, which will greatly help him give gifts to all good children.
On the signs, motorists are warned of “Santa Claus passing”, “elves crossing” or even a potential “sleigh flyover”. And let the children rest assured: Santa Claus and his reindeer have the right to free movement on land and in the air to distribute gifts.
A rest area for Santa
The mayor also gave priority to all the vehicles of Santa's elves wandering and dancing in Heuland. Mischievous beings, such as The Grinch or the Prankster Elf are prohibited from staying and traveling in the town, to guarantee a successful Christmas and good work from Santa.
However, there is no question of doing anything. If he is welcomed with open arms, Santa Claus will not be able to exceed 30 km/h aboard his sleigh at La Croix d'Heuland and Chemin de l'église, “except in the case of trips to help children wise Heulandais”.
To avoid tiring the man in red, a rest area will be set up at the communal wash house for the holidays, and only Santa Claus is authorized to access it. Finally, the town of Heuland invites Météo-France to respect the magic of Christmas and to provide snow allowing the takeoff and landing of Santa's sleigh.
An initiative full of joy and humor that the Calvadosians welcome with good humor. “Thank you for bringing Heuland to life,” wrote Stéphanie, a resident, on Facebook. “A very beautiful idea which will bring to life this magic of Christmas, which, unfortunately, tends to disappear,” adds Amandine.
