The police had to intervene urgently on Monday November 18, 2024 in Noyelles-sous-Lens, in Pas-de-Calais, to arrest an individual in a daze. The latter destroyed a bakery because the price of the baguette was too expensive.
Police officers and employees threatened with iron bars
The events took place in the afternoon, around 3 p.m., in rue du Général De Gaulle. A man went to the Coeur de Ville bakery to buy a baguette. When he heard the price, 1.20 euros, the accused became uncontrollable.
According to a police source, he grabbed an iron bar with which he threatened the three employees present. The perpetrator also damaged the interior of the business before going out and attacking the window. But that's not all.
The 54 year old man damaged a bus on public roads but also the police car came to question him. Placed in police custody, the Avionnais confided that he had acted in this way because the price of the baguette was too high. Presented Friday before the Béthune judicial court, the fifty-year-old received a sentence of 2 years in prison.
