The Toulouse public prosecutor’s office (Haute-Garonne) has opened a murder investigation after the death of a retiree in a nursing home. The facts date back to Thursday June 27, report Toulouse News confirming information from the Dépêche du Midi .
That evening, members of the staff of this nursing home located in a Toulouse district heard noise coming from the victim’s room. After entering the room, they found the resident deceased and presenting signs of “traces of blows”, precise Toulouse News.
A suspect not yet heard by investigators
Suspicions have turned to another resident of the establishment. The latter is unknown to the justice system and is said to be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The local daily newspaper specifies that his state of health has not, for the moment, allowed investigators to question him.
An autopsy was carried out on the victim’s body after which a murder investigation was opened by the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office.
