Police uncover luxury car trafficking for loot of 1.7 million euros

According to our colleagues from Bleu, several stolen cars were discovered by the police in the department. Under the direction of the public prosecutor's office, the Brignoles Research Brigade would have found luxury vehicles whose value is estimated at just over 1.7 million euros.

A jet-ski and a watch would also have been part of the loot. As for the cars, they were no longer registered and would have been sublet in the south of France.

Dismantling of an organized network?

This discovery is part of an investigation which began two years ago, in December 2022. A Lamborghini, belonging to a luxury car rental company, was then intercepted, lacking a license plate. at the front and registered in Germany.

Apparently, the rented cars are regularly borrowed by motorists in the PACA region and these allow them to commit offenses without being bothered by the police. The gendarmerie explains that these cars could be linked to international organized crime networks, which risks complicating progress in the investigation.
