Building on its critical and public success in Italy, “ Sarah Scazzi: The Murder That Torn Italy Apart » is now available on Disney+ in France.
This original production in four one-hour episodes was presented in October, during the 19e edition of the Rome Film Festival. Since its release, it has broken all audience records during its first week of broadcast for a general public series on Disney+ in Italy.
« Sarah Scazzi: The Murder That Torn Italy Apart » returns to the murder of a teenager, and the media coverage of this news item. Each episode adopts the point of view of one of the protagonists (Sarah, her cousin Sabrina, her uncle Michele and her aunt Cosima), which allows us to understand all the complexities of one of the biggest Italian criminal cases.
On August 26, 2010, in Avetrana, a small sun-drenched town in Puglia, Sarah Scazzi, 15, disappeared. His cousin Sabrina was waiting for him at home, via Deledda, to go to the beach that afternoon. We wrongly suspect a runaway. As her family sets out to find her, Sarah's fate is already sealed. His body will be found at the bottom of a well.
Vanessa Scalera (Cosima Misseri), Paolo De Vita (Michele Misseri), Giulia Perulli (Sabrina Misseri), Imma Villa (Concetta Serrano), Federica Pala (Sarah Scazzi), Anna Ferzetti (Daniela, the journalist), Giancarlo Commare (Ivano), Geno Diana (Jupiter) and Antonio Gerardi (Maresciallo Persichella) are in the credits of this series produced by Pippo Mezzapesa, who also wrote the screenplay with Antonella W.
