Friday, June 28th, Media Day took place at INSEP, where journalists were invited to speak with the athletes qualified for the Paris Olympics, as well as with the National Technical Director, Mr. Christian Roudaut, and the coaches of the French Team.

The day began with a Laser Run demonstration by the INSEP collective at the Marie-José Pérec outdoor stadium with more than a hundred schoolchildren invited by Brice Loubet and the Paris Rectorate.

Under the sun, the atmosphere was exceptional with enthusiastic young people equipped with flags, signs and inflatable supporter balloons. Many songs were sung by the different children present. The staff wanted to do this demonstration in an Olympic Games configuration, that is to say with encouragement and Laser Run targets directed in the direction that the modern pentathlon competition will be held during the Olympic Games at the Château de Versailles.

Jackson Richardson, chef de mission of the French delegation, came to support the collective two months before the start of the modern pentathlon events with his characteristic smile and kindness. Jackson Richardson was one of the greatest French handball players in history with two world titles in 1995 and 2001 and an Olympic bronze medal in 1992.

The morning ended with a signing session between the schoolchildren from the Paris region and the pentathletes.

Media Day took place in the afternoon with 15 different media represented in total. DTN Christian Roudaut introduced this session with a first assessment of the current season, the presentation of those selected for Paris 2024. Journalists and photographers were able to interact with the athletes, the DTN and the coaches. Among the media, we can cite RMC Sport and France TV which will broadcast the Olympic Games. As a reminder, the modern pentathlon events will take place from Thursday August 8 to Sunday August 11.

Le Coq Sportif, supplier of the French teams, also presented the Olympic Games outfits to the athletes.

The day ended with a cocktail dinner between the athletes, the technical staff, the DTN, the technical managers of the FFPM and the team working at the Federation’s headquarters.

We thank everyone who took part in this intense day.
