Apple doesn't plan major updates for AirPods Max after USB-C version

According to the latest insider report from Mark Gurman, Apple has no plans to make any major updates to its AirPods Max earbuds after the USB-C model is released in early 2024.

Here's what we know

The AirPods Max were released in December 2020 for $549 and didn't receive updates for almost four years. It wasn't until September 2024 that a version with USB-C and several new colors appeared. However, there haven't been any significant updates, like the H2 chip or adaptive audio.

Gourmet notes that despite their high price, AirPods Max have their audience. However, their low popularity among buyers does not allow Apple to invest in the development of new models.

The company will leave the headphones in their current form for several more years, and no price cuts are expected at the moment.
