Maxime Peyron, host at France Bleu Vaucluse, told X about his misadventure with a frozen Picard steak.
The incident could have had serious consequences. Maxime Peyron, host on France Bleu Vaucluse, reported Thursday November 21 that he had discovered pieces of glass in a Picard brand minced steak, as reported by France Bleu.
“I was coming home from work, I didn't want to cook too much so I said to my wife: 'We're going to have a frozen hamburger steak,' which I usually save for my 2-year-old son,” he explains. “After biting into my frozen steak, I feel something cracking in my mouth. I realize that I am bleeding […] When I open the steak, I see a second piece, whole this time.”
Picard apologizes
The situation could have been even more worrying, because his son regularly consumes these hamburgers. “I had the reflex to spit, but my son… He might as well have swallowed the piece of glass, or worse,” he testifies.
Following this incident, Maxime Peyron contacted Anses and the Picard brand on the X platform. The company apologized for “this incident” and requested details on the batch in question in order to carry out a possible recall .
France Bleu also specifies that Maxime Peyron reported the matter to the Departmental Directorate for Population Protection, which would have opened an investigation.
