Guingamp – Amiens: match summary

The expulsion of Nair (48'), for a sole that was more clumsy than mean on Kaïboue, could however have destroyed the work done so far. But if these Costarmoricans do not master everything, we can only praise the energy they deploy, this constant desire to move forward.

The counter led by Picard, which allowed Siwe to score a double (65'), says a lot about this refreshing enthusiasm. Perfection will never be this season – the last match in (1-3) demonstrated that – but the spectacle has often been there since Sylvain Ripoll arrived. And that’s already a lot, after all!

To the energy that they like to deploy is then added a technical accuracy rarely seen. There was play on the flanks, individual initiatives, creativity and two goals which therefore took on enormous weight when there were only ten on the pitch. Two very different goals but which say quite well what this team is capable of offering when the planets are aligned. The first is a classic now. After a stint with Sagna, Sissoko delivered his seventh assist of the season to Siwe (1-0, 13'). A cross to the line which confirms the right-back in first place among passers in Ligue 2, just that.

The second realization came from an inspiration as we like to look at them. While he hadn't found the net for two months, Hemia fired a slow shot with his left foot (2-0, 37'). A gesture which also illustrates the nerve of these Costa Ricans.

Siwe's double

This Guingamp team has flaws. His youth and inexperience are part of it. But the second half showed how much they knew how to stay united, even in difficult times.

After ten long minutes of suffering, the Costarmoricans even sealed the fate of this ten-a-side game, when Picard overflowed on the left to serve Siwe (3-0, 65').

Totally asphyxiated, the people of ultimately never existed. Called upon as a central hinge in Nair's relay, the debutant Demouchy had a trouble-free start. In the end, it was a seventh success of the season. A victory which brings them closer to the Top 5, but which above all showed to what extent this team deserved to be watched.
