Star Rail, “On the Eighth Day Was the Great Departure”, is available. – PlayStation Blog in French

Dear Pioneer, The Honkai: Star Rail development team salutes you! It's been a while since we last saw each other, and today we're excited to bring you some news about version 2.7, titled “On the Eighth Day Was the Great Departure.” This chapter marks the final stop for the Astral Express crew before arriving in Amphoreus, the eternal land. In other words, this update will conclude our adventure in Penacony, while also setting the stage for the start of version 3.0.

In previous chapters, Black Swan suggested that the crew of the Astral Express go to Amphoreus, the eternal land. Amphoreus is a mysterious place where even the Aiôn Akivili has never set foot. As a precaution, Himeko decided to gather as much information as possible about this destination. Meanwhile, before embarking on their next adventure, the crew of the Astral Express made a final stop at Penacony, where they reunited with old friends and created treasured memories.

Old friends reunite in the spotlight

Memories of the “performance” at the Penacony Grand Theater still seem fresh. It's not just the Astral Express and Penacony that awaken and come back to life, but also Sunday himself. When you think about it, there's something deeply moving about sharing the stage with Sunday once again. No longer the head of House Vieux-Chêne, he decided “to go among men, to travel the earth, and to see the true essence of the world”. This time, Sunday abandoned the blessings of “Harmony” and “Order”, choosing to continue his quest for a dream paradise as a mere mortal. With the help of a Pepeshi named Wonweek, Sunday returns to Penacony hoping to put on one last performance before beginning a new journey.

To achieve this, he donned a long hooded robe, creating a new appearance that cleverly concealed his true identity. This allows him to go on stage to perform his very last dance on the planet of festivities.”

As a 5-star fantasy-type character, Sunday has unique support abilities. His skill allows an ally to act immediately and increase the DGT he inflicts. If this ally has a summon, then the ally and the summon can act immediately and benefit from a DGT increasing effect. When Sunday uses his ultimate, he regenerates energy for an ally and grants Beatified to them and their summon. The Beatified ally receives a halo, and their critical damage increases.

Another upcoming character is Peregrine, who we already know as our old friend Tingyun. This multi-talented young Foxian woman has had her appearance, name and identity ripped away from her. Despite the cruelty of fate, a glimmer of hope remains for her, although the mark of Destruction continues to stir within her. Tingyun came close to death after his face-to-face with Phantylie in the main quest of version 1.2. Fortunately, Ruan Mei, of the Society of Geniuses, came to his aid, giving him a second life. Recently, Himeko and Welt visited Ruan Mei and decided to take Tingyun home, starting a journey back to her true home.

Peregrine is a 5-star fire-type character. Specialized in supporting a single ally, it allows them to reduce the robustness of enemies by ignoring their weakness. While Peregrine is on the battlefield, enemy targets have the Mark of Cloudfire condition applied. When Cloud Fire Mark is reduced to zero, the target takes Breaking DMG again. Additionally, when teammates attack enemy targets in Weak Break, they deal additional Extreme Break DMG. And that's not all: Peregrine can use his skill to increase the Rupture effect of allied characters. When she uses her ultimate, she deals Fire DMG to all enemies, ignoring their weakness type to directly reduce their toughness.

On the other hand, the exclusive 5-star characters Jing Yuan and Firefly will return in the first and second half of version 2.7 respectively. Their power makes them prime allies to accompany you on your next adventures.

Even more game modes for version 2.7 and beyond

In addition to new characters and new storylines, version 2.7 will offer Pioneers a truly immersive experience. In this version, you can board the Festi'Voiture of the Astral Express, a place where elegance and nostalgia meet harmoniously: a vast reception area, an elegant marble bar, and a robot bartender in retro style. With the vast universe as a backdrop, you can enjoy a drink in the company of the Express crew or sit quietly by the window and let your thoughts blossom freely as the landscapes pass by.

By taking the stairs, you will discover the room belonging to the protagonist of the game. In the Cosmic Decoration Guide event, you will have to transform what was once a storage room into a small paradise in your image. This space consists of a bedroom, a bathroom and other areas with various functions. As you raise funds from the Express by completing chores, your space will gradually take shape to reflect your journey through the stars.

And there's even more exciting news: the relic system will also be updated in version 3.0. Now, during synthesis, you will be able to use specific items to choose the main and secondary stats of the relics. In addition to using Self-Shaping Resin, you'll also need to spend a new item, Wish Resin, to direct both the relics' primary and secondary stats.

Before wrapping up and saying goodbye, Pom-Pom discovered something special while sorting through the pioneer's storage box! Between the version 2.7 update and the end of version 3.2, you will be able to receive the “Gift of the Express”, which will allow you to choose a permanent 5-star character. Our pioneering expedition will continue with new and old friends, let's go together and fight side by side!

So ends our preview of version 2.7. Stay tuned, because there are many more surprises to come. We hope you're already looking forward to it, because our old friend Herta, the famous mistress of the Space Station, is more than ready for the adventures that await us.
