Ubisoft boost Star Wars Outlaws with update 1.4.0, deployed today. The main change brought by this patch? The end of forced infiltration. No more having to hide at all costs.
At launch, the game was divided. The infiltration mechanics, imposed in certain missions, were not unanimous. Forcing players to avoid detection went against the idea of the game presented in the trailers: exploration and action. Many found this frustrating, especially in a title where action should take precedence.
Update 1.4.0 shakes all that up. Infiltration becomes completely optional. Players can now decide how to approach each mission. Freedom is therefore the key word! Being spotted no longer means the immediate end. On the contrary, it triggers action. No more restarting a mission just because an enemy spotted the player. This change provides more freedom and reduces frustration.
Infiltration remains present in the game and has not been removed, however, it becomes a choice. Players can always opt for a discreet approach or, on the contrary, choose a more direct strategy. Each mission thus becomes more open, allowing greater diversity in gameplay. The union zones, previously reserved for infiltration, now allow you to sneak, negotiate or fight, depending on each person's preferences.
But that's not all. Ubisoft has also made improvements to combat. It is, for example, now possible to keep weapons collected during missions and use them. In addition, strategy takes on a more important role. Targeting specific parts of enemies' bodies, such as the head, to deal greater damage is now possible. These new features make the clashes more dynamic and tactical.
This update shows that Ubisoft is paying attention to player feedback. By removing mandatory infiltration and enriching the gameplay options, Star Wars Outlaws becomes freer and better suited to different play styles. More control, more fun.
