It is a legal saga which, it seems, will go no further. This Thursday, former sports minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra reacted to the withdrawal of the defamation complaint against her and filed by the former president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noël Le Graët.
“Noël Le Graët informed the Court of Justice of the Republic that he was withdrawing his defamation complaint against me,” Oudéa-Castéra announced on X.
This complaint, filed in April 2023, was to lead to a trial which was to be held on December 3 and 4. Noël Le Graët accused Amélie Oudéa-Castéra of having lied, in February 2023, about the conclusions of the damning audit report from the general inspection of education, sport and research (IGESR), carried out after the accusations of sexual harassment to which Le Graët was subjected.
“In the event of a trial,” continues “AOC,” he (Noël Le Graët) would have had to return to the Court on the repeated discrepancies in language and behavior which had led him to resign from the French Football Federation. As at the time for his resignation, he made a wise decision for himself and for the FFF. »
In November, after a complaint was dismissed against him for moral and sexual harassment, Noël Le Graët scratched Amélie Oudéa-Castéra in an interview given to L'Équipe. “What has she done for Sport?,” he said. I won't judge her on her time at National Education, she made me feel a little sorry. I am human. »
Former Minister of Sports, a position she held from May 20, 2022 to September 21, 2024, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra was very briefly, for 28 days, the Minister of National Education and Youth. A mandate marked by a series of controversies.
