The day after the dramatic news item that occurred on rue de l'église in Chavelot which caused the death of a 34-year-old man shot twice in the back, the alleged perpetrator, aged 71, who had warned him -even the gendarmes, was presented this Thursday before an investigating judge.
The qualification retained is simple murder. What are the circumstances? According to the prosecution and in the absence of witnesses, we simply know that the victim, a commercial agent, would have come several times to the home of the 2 brothers to approach them with a view to possible work in the home.
The eldest (alongside the mayor of the town in this photo) was absent at the time of the fatal altercation. The street being under construction, no screams or noise of detonation were heard in the neighborhood. The mystery therefore remains as to what led the septuagenarian, a member of the local hunting society and from whom several rifles were seized, to shoot the victim, who died instantly.
The autopsy carried out this Friday and the ballistic studies could provide some clarification, but it is the testimony of the alleged perpetrator which should really allow us to know more about this homicide. Prevented by the seals from returning to his home, the older brother should be rehoused by the commune of Chavelot during the investigation.
We take stock of this 6th murder recorded in the department since the start of the year in our news this Thursday at 6 p.m.
