The toll is very heavy in Alex after the fire during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. He hit a goat farm in this town between Annecy and Thônes. 215 animals perished in the disaster.
Drama in a goat farm at the foot of the Aravis
The fire ravaged a goat farm in Alex in Haute-Savoie. The disaster began around 12:30 a.m. in the night from Wednesday to Thursday on this farm at the foot of the Aravis, between Annecy and Thônes. The 600 m² went up in smoke, killing the 215 goats on this farm.
The flames then spread to a nearby storage building (with a surface area of 200 m²). The fire was brought under control during the night but the Haute-Savoie firefighters are still on site this Thursday morning for clearing operations in particular. The reasons for this fire, which has very serious consequences for operations, are currently unknown.
Cows saved in Savoie
Emergency services were also called following the fall of 6 cows into a slurry pit in Saint-Ours on Wednesday evening. Savoyard firefighters intervened to save 6 animals on a farm. They had fallen into this pit around 7 p.m. in Saint-Ours between Alby-sur-Chéran and Aix-les-bains. A special vehicle was mobilized to extract the 6 cows which were not injured but which were stuck.
The “chemical risks” teams were also mobilized with equipment for firefighters to filter gas fumes during the operation.
