A renewed but familiar ZenBook Duo
Asus is therefore preparing to launch a new version of its dual-screen laptop, the ZenBook Duo UX8406CA. This model, already referenced at a reseller in a bit of a hurry, takes up the chassis and visual characteristics of its predecessor, with two 14-inch OLED touch screens and a repositioned keyboard layout to maximize ergonomics and display space . An integrated stand allows the screens to be placed vertically or horizontallyand accessories such as a wireless keyboard and stylus remain available separately.
Next generation Intel processors
The main advantage of this update is of course the integration of the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H and Core Ultra 9 285H processors, from the Arrow Lake-H series. These chips are not officially available yet, but they promise increased performance. The Core Ultra 7 255H offers 16 cores, while the Core Ultra 9 285H reportedly boasts 24. On this last option, however, there remains some doubt, Arrow Lake-H being limited to 16 cores according to initial information. Highlighting this future configuration could therefore be a mistake. In any case, these processors should guarantee greatly improved performance compared to the previous model.
Expected configurations and prices
Early information reveals high-level configurations: up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB or 2TB SSD storage options. The price of the models varies depending on the configurations, with a price around 2,500 euros for the version equipped with Core Ultra 7 255H and 32 GB of RAMwhile the version with the Core Ultra 9 285H would reach 3,500 euros. However, these prices should be taken with caution.
Launch expected in 2025
The official launch of the ZenBook Duo UX8406CA is expected during CES 2025. This update would allow Asus to strengthen its position in the dual-screen laptop segmenteven if the expected prices remain quite high. The previous version is still available, and on sale on Amazon.
