Euro 2024, for the moment, does not give pride of place to the usual star attackers of the big nations.
You had to have a pretty hollow nose to imagine Georges Mikautadze top scorer in Euro 2024 at the end of the first round. The Metz striker is the only one to have scored three times, including the last two from the penalty spot, for a goal in each of the matches (3-1 defeat against Turkey, 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic, 2-0 victory against Portugal).
No trace of Ronaldo or Lukaku
Behind, among the five players with two goals, it is difficult to detect a huge expected star, since we will not place Cody Gakpo among this caste. The Dutch striker from Liverpool had the merit of scoring his two goals from play, like Niclas Füllkrug (Dortmund) who also came into play each time. His teammate Jamal Musiala was perhaps more expected, unlike the Romanian Razvan Marin and the Slovakian Ivan Schranz. But then, where are the big names?

Among the 67 scorers who opposed the famous own goal, by far the best scorer with seven goals – including two for Portugal -, there was no trace of Cristiano Ronaldo or Romelu Lukaku. We will still note a goal for Jude Bellingham, who went to get it with a nice header against Serbia (1-0), as well as for Kevin De Bruyne against Romania (2-0), Memphis Depay against Austria (3-2 defeat) or Alvaro Morata against Croatia (3-0).
