After a series of declines between mid-April and the first ten days of June, domestic fuel oil prices have been on an upward trend for several days now. A progression that is confirmed at the end of this week.

For this Friday, June 28, ordinary fuel oil is displayed at 1,200 euros per liter by the specialized site prixfioul.fr. As for premium fuel oil, its average price is 1.219 euros per liter. On a purchase of 1,000 liters, the average prices recorded this Friday morning increased by around 4 euros compared to those displayed on Wednesday by the same site.

For its part, the fioulreduc website indicates an average price of 1.191 euros per liter for this Friday. Here too, the daily price is up a few euros compared to midweek. Finally, on fioulmarket.fr, domestic fuel oil is sold at an average of 1,206 euros for a purchase of 1,000 liters. On this sales platform, the daily price is up by almost 8 euros compared to that indicated on Wednesday.

It must be said that the prices of domestic fuel oil in France depend on demand, but above all on the fluctuation of the oil markets. The increase in prices observed for several weeks can also be explained by the increase in oil prices. This Friday, a barrel of Brent from the North Sea sold at $85.78, a price up sharply compared to the start of the week. Regarding the barrel of West Texas Intermediate (WTI), it is at 82.36 dollars per barrel this Friday morning. After having fallen sharply at the start of the current month, oil has returned to levels equivalent to those observed at the end of April.

Where to find the cheapest fuel oil?

According to the site fioulreduc.fr, which reviews the prices of domestic fuel oil in each region, it is Franche-Comté which offers the cheapest prices in France this Friday, with 1,162 euros on average for a purchase of 1 000 liters. Conversely, it is Upper Normandy which offers the highest prices in the whole country, with 1,231 euros for 1,000 liters. This area has had the highest average prices in the country for several days. For comparison, the difference in prices this Friday between Franche-Comté and Haute-Normandie is 69 euros on a purchase of 1,000 liters.
