Saint-Amans-Valtoret. JPR Distribution takes over the closing bakery

The last Valtorétaine bakery will close permanently at the end of November. For Bernard Puech, manager of JPR Distribution and his wife Eliane, manager of the Valtorétain store, it was inconceivable to do nothing about this situation. They therefore sought a solution to sustain the supply of fresh, artisanal bread for the inhabitants of the village. It was not an easy thing, there are fewer and fewer artisan bakers left in the south of the department and they all face an ever-increasing demand. In the end, it is the Astruc bakery in Saint-Alby which will supply the store every day from Monday to Saturday. “We were able to find an arrangement for delivery which was problematic,” explains Eliane Puech, “we will each do half of the journey.” This is excellent news, not only for the inhabitants of the village, but also for those from surrounding areas as far as neighboring Hérault who will also be able to benefit from this choice of artisanal breads nearby. Since its opening almost two decades ago, the JPR store has continued to diversify its offering: plants, seeds and tools for gardening and green spaces, animal feed initially, to which have been added over the years the general food, vegetables, fruits and fresh produce, local products, a choice of local wines and other drinks, work clothes and shoes, festive decoration items, live poultry, etc. And now the offer is enriched with this new service, with the aim of preserving proximity. “We sometimes deliver some home orders in the village for elderly or sick people who are unable to travel.”

The regional press – including your favorite daily newspaper – will also be on sale at JPR from December 1st.

This Thursday, November 21, conviviality will be the order of the day: in collaboration with the neighboring butcher-delicatessen Lard de Vivre, JPR is offering at 7 p.m. a “new wine in songs” evening with the participation of the Los de l’Autan choir; a tasting of early wines accompanied by plates of charcuterie, oysters and gourmet plates offered by the Interligne parents’ association in a beautiful friendly atmosphere, like every year for the past 16 years.

JPR Distribution in Valtoret is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 2:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Contact: 05 63 59 20 33
