This Wednesday, the Pom’s d’Or International Festival, initiated by the specialized accommodation institution La Pommeraie, celebrated its 25th edition.
She broke a participation record with no less than 25 short films and clips in competition.
32 institutions for people with disabilities took part and more than 600 people warmly participated in the great cinema festival in Ellignies-Sainte-Anne.
Belgium was the best represented, but there were also French and Quebec delegations.
The members of the jury, chaired by Jean-Pierre Winberg (president of the Ramdam Festival) and Felix Van Groeningen (director of “Alabama Monroe”, César for best foreign film, “The Merditude of Things” and “The Eight Mountains”, awarded in Cannes), had a lot to do to decide between the different films, as the quality was so essential.
The Foyer Saint-François de Béthune (France) is the big winner of these 25th Pom’s d’Or since it won the Grand Prize, but also the prize for Best Clip and the Audience Prize for the clip with “Dans les yeux”.
The La Pommeraie Center in Ellignies-Sainte-Anne also won three trophies for “Badass”: Best short film, Best actress (Margot) and Humor Prize.
The Best Actor prize goes to Jean-François, from Notre village à Ohain for his performance in “Happy Birthday”. This short film is also credited with the award for Best Original Screenplay for a Short Film.
“Black Gloves” from the Alternance Medical-Educational Institute in Bourg-la-Reine (France) is credited with the Special Mention.
