While he was supposed to launch the veterinary health control and inspection teams, Minister Sidi Tiémoko Touré and his Animal and Fisheries Resources colleagues were prevented from completing their project.
It was Monday, November 18, 2024 on the site of the Port-Bouët slaughterhouse south of Abidjan. Individuals ransacked the facilities deployed by the ministry.
Forty-eight hours after this incident, the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources returned to what happened in Port-Bouët.
In a post on his Facebook page, he presents a video of the ransacking of the facilities, all accompanied by a caption. He points the accusing finger at the Autonomous District of Abidjan.
“The Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources was attacked on Monday at the slaughterhouse by agents of the Abidjan District headed by Mr. Boa Valérie, Director General of Technical Services of the District, also Acting Director of the slaughterhouse of Port Bouët, to prevent the launch of veterinary health control and inspection teams,” we read in the post.

According to information, on Monday, November 18, 2024, the minister went to the Port-Bouët slaughterhouse to attend the launching ceremony of the campaign of veterinary health control and inspection teams.
This, in accordance with the execution of the 2024 roadmap relating to food safety.
Against all expectations, individuals burst into the ceremony venue, ransacking the facilities.
In the video posted on the ministry’s Facebook page, we see a man presented as the regional director of animal and fisheries resources having his cell phone snatched away, which is then smashed against the ground.
An act of vandalism which forced the indefinite postponement of the ceremony.
