Released last August, Star Wars Outlaws continues on its merry way and today the highly anticipated update 1.4.0 is available.

The big Star Wars: Outlaws update is finally here!

Since its launch, Star Wars: Outlaws has suffered from several glitches and many players have criticized certain aspects of the title such as infiltration or the behavior of the AI. Aware of the problems, Massive promised to rectify the situation with numerous improvements which are now available.

Among the biggest changes, stealth, combat, AI and enemy detection have been particularly improved. Weak points have also been added to enemies to “reward strategic play”, while weapon rebalancing has been carried out.

The studio also promises visual improvements, particularly to faces and facial expressions, as well as numerous fixes that you will find in the patch note below.

The update can be downloaded now on consoles and PC and weighs in particular 10.18 GB on Xbox Series X|S. Remember that Star Wars Outlaws is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC and it is probably one of the best times to discover the game with the arrival of this highly anticipated patch.

Notable changes

  • Notable updates to stealth and combat that allow players to choose between stealth and blaster, even in union territories in cities.
  • Improved AI and enemy detection: Players are notified when they are detected and can choose to power up or change tactics to remain stealthy.
  • Enemy weak points have been added to reward strategic play. If targeted, they can trigger explosions or cause enemies to die in spectacular fashion.
  • Kay's weapons, blaster and pick-up, have been retuned to improve the combat experience, including the ability to carry two-handed weapons in more situations.
  • Facial expressions and animations in dialogue scenes have been improved, the option to turn off cinematic aim during gameplay has been added, and the visibility of distant lights has been improved.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from taking off with the Trailblazer after certain missions.
  • Kay now uses a two-handed weapon in more situations, such as when climbing, grappling, or using the speeder.

Camera

  • Improved camera when shooting, aiming down sight and moving aim.
  • Improved cover camera, including the ability to manually switch shoulders when aiming
  • Improved the camera by presenting a better view of each store when interacting with a seller.

Worlds, fauna and flora

  • Fixed an issue with destructible flora
  • Fixed an issue where visual effects created by falling water were broken.

Accessibility

  • Added a custom controller preset to allow modification of individual buttons. You can choose separate sets of button swaps for Kay, the speeder, and the Trailblazer.
  • Added a new “strong” aim assist setting.
  • Added a new auto-transfer option for climbing, which allows you to automatically move between climbable objects by moving towards them instead of having to press a button.
  • Added a setting to change the size and clarity of the effect showing the security camera detection area.
  • Separated the sound effects slider into two separate sliders, for game sounds and ambient sounds.
  • Shortened menu narration, settings now allow up to 400% speed.
  • Menu narration now indicates lockpicking and slicing mini-games, objective hints, and which Sabacc card is currently highlighted in your hand and while drawing/discarding.
  • Added an option to disable cinematic lens (distortion, fringing and vignetting effects) for the game.
  • The “Fill Screen” option is now the default screen ratio, meaning the text size is larger in the initial menus before you reach the ratio adjustment screen.

Divers

  • Fixed an issue where destroying a ship by ramming did not count towards the “Never Give Me a Chance” Achievement/Trophies.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Shoot First” Achievement/Trophies and the “Best” ability could not be unlocked at the same time.
  • Fixed an issue where defeating Death Troopers during certain missions did not count towards the Ubisoft Connect “Defy Death” challenge.
