The Lab Créatik de Charlevoix took off Wednesday morning at Domaine Forget in Saint-Irénée. Affordable and collective housing as well as the region’s food system will be the main issues discussed.
The second edition of the event takes on its full meaning as these two themes are most visible in the region. “Whether it be in terms of the lack of housing, the new reality that appeared perhaps a year ago, homelessness, or the strong demand from food banks,” lists Philippe Carrier-Moisan, coordinator for the DSI Charlevoix.
Over the next two days, actors from political, economic and social circles will take part in discussion panels and activities that will demystify the issues and future solutions.
“The need is in Charlevoix and they are the ones who will find solutions and bring about a cooperative project. It can’t be more local than that and that’s what’s beautiful about it,” says the general director of the Social Economy Enterprise Center of the Capitale-Nationale region, Philippe Hamel.
“It’s important that people come together to have greater influence, to develop projects and not be afraid to innovate or go off the beaten track” adds the director of the Local and Entrepreneurial Development Service ( SDLE), from the MRC of Charlevoix Anne Scallon.
An evening where the public is invited will take place this evening, still at Domaine Forget, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A fair, where different cooperatives will meet, will take place there. Otherwise, activities will continue on Thursday in these same locations.
