With 16 votes for and 3 against (out of 19 cast), the elected officials of Loretz-d'Argenton have just given a favorable opinion to the sand pit project. This November 19, 2024, the municipal council was to express itself on the request for environmental authorization presented by the company Sablière du Thouarsais and the project declaration procedure relating to the compatibility of the local intercommunal urban planning plan (PLUi) which determines the conditions for land development and use.
Pierre Sauvêtre, the mayor, reminded elected officials that the prefect had prescribed (decree dated October 4, 2024) a public inquiry open from Monday October 28 to Friday November 29 inclusive (file available at town hall), the municipal council being called to give your opinion. From the discussion which preceded the secret ballot, we will remember the words of Isabelle Loiseau: “ We must plan for the years to come (sand pit operating time)if we have been elected, we must think about the future of all. » Members of the Argenton Valley in Danger (VAD) association, opposed to the project and present, tried in vain to interfere in the conversation. At the end of the session, Françoise Blot will criticize the assembly for the lack of knowledge of the subject.
A little history
In February 2012, the elected officials of Argenton-l'Église said no to the sand pit! They were led to vote for this same project. It was then a question of modifying the land use plan (Pos), a simplified revision being necessary following the request from the company ATP, at the origin of the sand pit project. After deliberation and secret ballot, the procedure was rejected by ten votes against and one blank. Twelve years later, Argenton-l'Église became a delegated municipality of Loretz-d'Argenton, we no longer speak of Pos but of PLUi, ATP joined forces with the Bouchet company to create the company Sablière du Thouarsais which comes to receive a favorable opinion from elected officials in 2024.
