Supermarkets targeted

But targeting these two state buildings was just the beginning. Later in the evening, two supermarkets in the town bore the brunt of the farmers' anger. In Leclerc de Trélissac, first, farmers dumped tires and earth in front of the warehouse, in order to block supplies to the supermarket. This Wednesday, November 20, the clearing was almost finalized around 10 a.m.

It was then the Auchan hypermarket in Marsac-sur-l'Isle which was targeted in the same way. “The director is going to meet us. I appreciate his gesture. He took note of our demands. We should be able to talk with him,” rejoices Rémi Dumaure, president of CR 24.

The Dordogne departmental federation of hunters has not escaped the discontent of farmers either. “We wish to denounce its inaction regarding compensation for game damage and the proliferation of animals. It’s specific to the department, elsewhere, there is better management,” explains Rémi Dumaure.

Take it to the next level

This Wednesday, November 20, shortly after 10 a.m., a CR 24 convoy took the road from Périgueux towards Brive-la-Gaillarde, where they will stay “as long as it takes”.
