A gas leak occurred early in the afternoon, Wednesday November 20, in the town of Savagna.
Work was underway on the public highway, rue Edmond Chapuis, to bury electrical cables. During a maneuver, a pipe was probably torn out by an excavator.

Surrounding houses evacuated

Firefighters were called around 2:30 p.m. for a gas leak. In total, five engines and eleven firefighters were involved.

The national police and GRDF also came to the scene. As a precautionary measure, surrounding houses were evacuated and traffic blocked during the intervention. The firefighters left the scene around 3:50 p.m. Work will be carried out to repair the damaged pipe. According to firefighters, this accident had no impact on customers.
