You may have been stuck for a while or still are this morning of Wednesday November 20, 2024 around Lille (North). The cause? A car was on fire on the A25at the level of La Chapelle-d’Armentières (North) before 7 a.m. This caused disruptions in traffic and major traffic jams, reports the prefecture’s road surveillance unit. At the end of the morning, a another accident is reported, between 5 vehicles, also causing kilometers of congestion towards the Capital of Flanders. Details.
Motorway exit while firefighters intervene
At 6:44 a.m. this Wednesday, the prefecture reported that a car was on fire on this busy highway, in the direction Dunkirk towards Lille, near La Chapelle-d’Armentières. The incident occurred at the level ofexchanger 8. During the emergency intervention, “the vehicles come out[ai]ent of the motorway at the interchange” to immediately return to the motorway towards Lille. Traffic was then disrupted for 7 km from Steenwerck.
