a convoy leaves for Place Ducale and the Christmas market

Farmers from Rural Coordination remain mobilized in the Ardennes this Wednesday November 20, 2024. After a first night spent in their “home base” in front of the Ardennes prefecture, they decided to maintain pressure to protest in particular against the free trade treaty with Mercosur, after two days of action, at the Belgian border on Monday, and in front of the prefecture and in the center of Charleville-Mézières on Tuesday.

And good news: the manure will be reused for the allotment gardens that the City rents, explains an agent.

Since yesterday, Tuesday November 19, around thirty farmers have been camped in front of the prefecture. At 9 a.m. this morning, still no action plan for the day. The motorized police remain ready to lead a potential convoy.

The demonstrators wish to speak with a representative of the prefecture in order to assert their demands. If they do not succeed, action will be taken.
