The Euro group stage concluded last night with the very good victory of Georgia over Portugal (2-0) and that of Turkey against the Czech Republic (2-1). The two winners will see the round of 16 and have a good place in our typical team for this 3rd day. Mamadarshvili could also have claimed a place in our team but we opted in favor of the Pole Łukasz Skorupski for more diversity. The goalkeeper disgusted the Blues last Tuesday with his 7 saves. Because of his performance, Didier Deschamps’ men only got a draw and finished 2nd in the group behind Austria.

For the rest, we decided to align this team in a fairly offensive 4-3-3. In defense, we find the Georgian Otar Kakabadze at the right back position. Aligned as a piston against the Portuguese, he will have been a great entertainer in his corridor. On the left, we find Alexander Prass. A usual midfielder, the Austrian performed well in this new role against the Netherlands. For the central hinge, we are entitled to Vanja Drkusic, who had no difficulty in repelling all the English attempts. The Slovenian is accompanied by Aymeric Laporte, still very serious during the Spanish success over Albania.

Mikautadze and Kvaratskhelia associated in front

In midfield, we had to make choices because quite a few players shone during their last match. Very good since the start of the Euro, Hakan Calhanoglu confirmed yesterday during the victory against the Czechs. The Turkish captain even got his team going by opening the scoring with a very nice strike. He is associated with Dani Olmo, magnificent decisive passer on Ferran Torres’ goal, and Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian captain is in great form in this Euro. After his decisive pass against Poland, he scored the winning goal against the Netherlands, synonymous with 1st place in the group.

We find his teammate in the selection, Romano Schmid, in the right winger role. The Wolfsburg player scored his team’s second goal against the Dutch and livened up the match. To accompany him, we have selected the two spearheads of the Georgian attack, Georges Mikautadze and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The second quickly opened the scoring to perfectly launch his team towards the feat, while the first made the break from the penalty spot. In addition to their goal, the two players had a great match thanks to their riot of energy. They deserve to be part of this typical team.
