Already assured of first place in its group, Julian Nagelsmann's Germany conceded a draw (1-1) on Tuesday for its last match of the group stage of the League of Nations in Budapest against Hungary.

The Germans first without winning

The opening score came for the Germans by Felix Nmecha (76th minute), and the Hungarians equalized on a penalty and a panenka from Dominik Szoboszlai in added time (90th + 9). With 14 points out of 18 possible, Germany finished the first phase of the European competition undefeated with four wins and two draws, in a group with Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands.

The Germans will know their opponent for the quarter-finals of the League of Nations on Friday: Italy, Denmark or Croatia. They will have the advantage of hosting the return match on March 23, three days after the away match.
