Google Drive for Windows now supports ARM-based devices, such as laptops with Snapdragon chips. This feature appears in the new beta version of the application.

What we know

The announcement was made by the Google Drive community. Previously, ARM-based devices could not use Google Drive for Windows due to the complexity of file integration. Now, with the release of this beta version, ARM device users will be able to use all Google Drive features except the Outlook Meet plugin.

Google clarifies that this is a beta version and may contain bugs. It is therefore recommended to only use it for non-critical data and to make sure to make backups.

ARM support was announced in September, and Google recently extended Quick Share for Windows to ARM devices. This news is an important milestone for ARM device users who can now fully use Google Drive on their devices.
