A fatal collision between a pickup truck and a heavy goods vehicle on Route 155 forces the closure of the road in both directions for an indefinite period.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the collision occurred at kilometer 193, halfway between the municipality of La Tuque and Lac Saint-Jean.

Around 6:45 p.m., a pickup truck traveling north on Route 155 deviated from its path and collided with a heavy truck carrying wood that was traveling in the opposite direction. The heavy goods vehicle subsequently caught fire.

According to police, the driver of the van was pronounced dead by emergency services at the scene of the accident. The driver of the truck was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The road is completely closed in both directions. A police officer trained in collision investigation was dispatched to the scene who will be responsible for establishing the causes and circumstances of this event.indicated the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec Nicolas Scholtus.
