Two Trois-Rivières businesses receive the Regional Product award as part of the Quebec Foods in My Basket competition from the Association of Food Retailers of Quebec.
The prize, awarded Friday during the Association’s annual conference, rewards the common strategy which aimed to introduce Bosco du Temps beer in a pint to Métro Plus Fournier customers between August 5 and 25.
More than 225 participants highlighted Quebec products during this competition. Each duo had to design and deploy a joint promotional initiative in store featuring a verified Aliments du Québec or Aliments prepared in Quebec product.
At Metro Plus Fournier, a tasting kiosk and a tent highlighted the Bosco du Temps in a pint. A refrigerator presented the featured product accompanied by food and beer pairing suggestions. A new culinary theme was offered every weekend. Aliments du Québec products, such as Lignée RR2 sausages and Oka mac and cheese, were also offered with the beer.
Tents and signs were set up at the entrance and a team interacted with customers. To promote the competition, publications were made on social networks and posters were posted in the store. Employees wore t-shirts in the colors of Time for a Pint.
“Thanks to this competition, Quebec products occupy a prominent place in grocery stores, thus attracting the attention of consumers and generating real enthusiasm for our local foods,” declared the general director of Aliments du Québec, Isabelle. Roy.
“This 9th edition testifies to the exceptional passion and collaboration between retailers and their partners,” added the President and CEO, Association of Food Retailers of Quebec, Pierre-Alexandre Blouin. These inspiring initiatives are a true celebration of Quebec know-how and our industry’s commitment to the local economy. »
