By opening the general meeting of the potignaise association of races outside the stadiumorganizer of Strides of the Devil’s BreachIsabelle Prosper gave a quick assessment of the 10th edition in Potigny. “On the two hikes and the 7.5 and 14 km races, we registered 405 competitors.”
The office leaves a positive amount of €1,124 in the cash register. The president “thanked the volunteers for their commitment and support over these ten years”.
The association put to sleep
Once the assessment is complete, Isabelle Prosper, as she announced two years ago, has submitted her resignation. Treasurer Denis Lebonnois and secretary Séverine Lebailly make the same decision. The three do not represent themselves.
The president is looking for her replacement in the meager audience, out of more than sixty volunteers only fifteen are present. “No one seems interested.”
Jean-Yves Defenouillère, former municipal elected official, in charge of sports, comments. “It’s a shame that there is no one to take over this wonderful association.”
The call for applications having yielded nothing, the resigning office decided to “put the association on hold for a year”.
I have saved the date of September 14 for a possible 11th edition, I am waiting until January to make a cancellation. Isabelle Prosper, resigning president of the Potignaise non-stadium racing association.
The APCHS remains looking for candidates for the positions of president, treasurer and secretary.
To help them in their new roles, Isabelle Prosper and Dominique Lebonnois “offer to support them for a year”.
