It’s a nice gift that the queen of R’n’B (and now country) offers to her fans. On December 25, Beyoncé will give her first concert since the release in March of her album Cowboy Carter, a tribute to the African-American roots of country music. The show will be broadcast live on Netflix. It will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston (Texas), the star’s hometown, at halftime of an American football match between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens.
The singer made this surprise announcement on Instagram on Monday, November 18, with a brief clip in which we see her, perched on a car covered in rose petals, recovering an American football in flight.
According to Netflix’s press release, “very special guests from the album” are expected to participate in the concert. Beyoncé has notably collaborated with Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Nile Rodgers on Cowboy Carter.
Beyoncé, who has already performed twice during the Super Bowl halftime, in 2013 and 2016, is leading the nominations for the next Grammy Awards, which will be awarded in Los Angeles in February: Cowboy Carter is the big favorite with nominations in eleven categories including the award for best album of the year. A Grammy that has always eluded him until now.
