While 13 people are still missing in Spain, the Prime Minister will soon speak before Parliament.
SPAIN – It is a macabre count that the Spanish authorities are reduced to making daily. Two weeks after the start of the floods which devastated the Valencia region, the number of victims this Monday, November 18, stood at 227 across the country, including 219 in the community of Valencia alone.
The number of missing also continues to be significant: 13 people have not given any sign of life since the events, which raises fears of a final death toll of 240.
Faced with this catastrophe, the president of the region has already admitted faults and apologized. This Monday, the government of Pedro Sanchez submits a request to Parliament to report to the deputies on the management of these floods by his government. The Prime Minister's intervention must take place in the last week of November.
Politicians blame each other

Friday in front of the Valencia parliament, the president of the region Carlos Mazón, member of the Popular Party (PP, conservative right) admitted some responsibility but he indirectly criticized the government of socialist Pedro Sánchez. He thus castigated “ those who hide behind interpretations of regulatory powers and the fine print of regulations and laws so as not to be self-critical”.
