The American president was invited to attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, on December 14.
On the occasion of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, an invitation was sent to the American President, Joe Biden, by Luxembourg. The information was confirmed by the services of Luc Frieden and Xavier Bettel in a response to a parliamentary question asked by socialist deputies Mars Di Bartolomeo and Yves Cruchten. This ceremony will take place on December 14, 2024 at the American military cemetery in Hamm.
The Belgian government is also involved in this invitation, since it also invited President Biden to participate. Following the commemoration in Luxembourg, which takes place in the morning, Joe Biden could go to the ceremony planned for the afternoon of the same day in Bastogne.
In the meantime, “the Luxembourg authorities are in regular and close contact with the American authorities, as well as with the various competent American services in Washington DC through the Luxembourg Embassy in Washington DC”.
