Good news for lovers of extreme music, since Hellfest returns to Clisson from Thursday June 27 to Sunday June 30, 2024. During this great mass dedicated to metal music, many festival-goers crowd in front of the Mainstages. But if you are a death metal lover, then head to the Altar stage where many talented artists are programmed! Here are 5 bands not to be missed on the Altar this summer at Hellfest.
Festival which has become an unmissable event for many metalheads French and foreigners, the Hellfest makes his return to Clisson once again putting the spotlight on hard rock, thrash metal, black metal, heavy metal, doom, death metal and even alternative metal during four days and evenings which promise to be festive and explosive.
The 2024 edition of Hellfest, not to be missed on Thursday 27, Friday 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, once again promises festival-goers to experience memorable musical moments thanks in particular to the presence of Metallica, Bruce Dickinson, Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Machine Head, Tom Morello, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age or even Mass Hysteria and Kerry King! So many groups and artists to see and listen to on the Mainstages (1 & 2). But Hellfest also includes four other stages, includingAltar. Adjacent to its sister Temple, the Altar scene is essentially dedicated to death metal, but also to progressive metal.

DARK TRANQUILITY – Thursday June 27, 2024 from 9:50 p.m. to 10:50 p.m.
Melodic death metal – Sweden
They are Scandinavian and play melodic death metal. They are the members of Dark Tranquility. Pioneer and worthy representative of the so-called “scenemelodeath“Swedish, the group from Gothenburg will not shy away from its pleasure of interpreting and playing pieces from its rich discography. Old or new titles, taken from the new album entitled “Endtime Signals“, everything is good to make festival-goers pogo on the stage Atlar !
KLONE – Friday June 28, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Progressive metal – France
They are French and offer progressive metal that is as powerful as it is bewitching! They are the members of Klone. Originally from Poitiers, the group was initially called Sowat. It was in 1999 that the group was renamed Klone. Today, Klone has nearly ten albums to his credit, including several live albums. This summer, Klone will light up the Altar stage with its atmospheric sounds and captivating arrangements that are undoubtedly a hit!
EINAR SOLBERG – Friday June 28, 2024 from 5:45 p.m. to 6:35 p.m.
Progressive metal – Norway
He is the charismatic singer with the powerful voice of Leprous. Einar Solberg launches into a solo career and takes advantage of his visit to Hellfest to present his first album produced alone, entitled “16“. The opportunity to (re)discover live the undeniable talent of this Scandinavian author, composer and singer, of Norwegian origin. Power and emotion will undoubtedly be present in this highly anticipated set in Clisson.
AMORPHIS – Friday June 28, 2024 from 9:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
Atmospheric death metal – Finland
It has already been more than 30 years since Amorphis evolves in the world of atmospheric death metal. With Tomi Joutsen singing since 2005, the Finnish group is a reference at home. They love the stage and have long known the tricks of the trade in order to create a supercharged and thunderous atmosphere. They will prove it to you Friday evening during their visit to Hellfest. The opportunity, we hope, to hear old songs and more recent titles.
LEGION OF THE DAMNED – Saturday June 29, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Thrash Metal – Netherlands
Skillfully mixing thrash metal and death metal, the Dutch from Legion of the Damned have the firm intention of turning the Altar scene upside down this summer during their visit to Hellfest. It must be said that the group’s last performance at the metal festival dates back to 2008. 16 years after their only appearance in Clisson, Legion of the Damned is therefore still very present and very determined. The proof, the group published the opus “The Poison Chalice” in 2023.
