An intervention by firefighters has been underway for a fire since 1:57 a.m., in the town of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, at rue Mirabeau.

The fire is under control. But the situation still requires numerous reconnaissance, particularly on the roof. At the height of the intervention, 3 lances were used, including one on a large scale. The team on site was reinforced with an additional ladder which came to us from the Luc-en-Provence rescue center. A family of 4 people as well as an adult from the apartment below will be rehoused. The intervention is not finished. Firefighters are asking to avoid the area.

The Var firefighters intervened for a violent house fire which concerned an apartment located on the second and last floor of a building in the city center. A family of 4 got out before help arrived. She was unharmed but nevertheless taken in by the firefighters for a check-up. Major measures were taken to fight the fire and prevent it from spreading. As a precaution, 17 people were taken to safety during the fight. The fire having broken through the roof, the team on site was reinforced by a fire officer, an expert in building risks, who will give an opinion on the stability of the impacted building.
