Garmin has released version 21.18 beta update for Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 smartwatches. In a message published on the Garmin forum, the company specifies that this is a candidate version. This means that, if no major bugs are found, a public version of the software will soon be available to all users.
There is a new feature for the Forerunner 255 and 955 devices: Garmin Strength Coach. This tool was launched a few months ago when the old Garmin Coach tool became Running Coach. You can use Strength Coach to build muscle or get in shape with a training plan tailored to your personal goals. The changelog also contains bug fixes regarding weather gaze and triathlon activity. Additionally, an issue with resuming from sleep mode despite resuming from sleep mode has been fixed. You can view the entire changelog below.
To download software version 21.18, you need to go to the main menu > Settings > System > Software update > Check for updates. As of this writing, at least 50% of Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 smartwatch users should be able to install beta 21.18. If you own one of these watches and want to participate in the beta program, you can sign up through Garmin Connect.
